Carlton native Brittany Peterson and partner Cody Lind, who live in Idaho, visited Peterson's family last month and took on the 310-mile Superior Hiking Trail. The elite trail runners broke the through-hike speed record by nearly a day, finishing in four days, nine hours and 27 minutes. Peterson's father, Steve Peterson, took photos along the trail and was part of a family support team aiding the runners.
