From left, Clarence Badger, Rol Bromberg, and Jeff Mayer enjoyed Rol's last Lumberjacks hockey game in January 2020. Bromberg and Badger both worked at the high school together for decades, Bromberg as longtime football coach, gym teacher and Cloquet athletic director, Badger as the business teacher at school. In retirement the pair went to as many Cloquet and college games as they could get to, and Mayer joined them at this game. "I miss him," Badger said at the time after Bromberg moved to the Twin Cities area to be closer to family. Bromberg's obituary appears on Page 7 of today's Pine Knot.
