Newspaper looking for future art exhibits

January 18, 2019

The Pine Knot News is soliciting proposals from visual artists who live or work in the northern half of Carlton County for future exhibits in its office space at 122 Avenue C in Cloquet. The next, following Ken Hanson’s current show, is scheduled for March and will hang for two months. We host an artist reception at the beginning of each show. We plan bi-monthly exhibits and will choose for the May, July, September and November exhibits from these submissions. We are accepting applications now through Feb. 1.

All forms of artwork — ceramics, sculpture, paintings, photography, prints, woodturning and carving and more — are welcome. Please send proposals to curator Ann Markusen at [email protected], and to [email protected]. The application should include a short statement of your work (techniques, subjects), five to 10 images of your work or links to an online photo gallery, the sizes of the pieces and whether wall-hung, floor-standing, or for the office window ledge (two plus feet wide, 15- 20 feet long), along with your email address and phone contact info.
