Susan M. Salo, 67, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2019 at Viewcrest Health Center in Duluth, Minn. after an 18-year battle with cancer.

She was born April 8, 1951 in Cloquet, Minn. to Lester "Dick" and Virginia (Hennum) Salo.

Susan graduated from Esko High School in 1969 and worked for Independent School District #4 in McGregor for more than 30 years. She loved reading, singing, doing puzzles, and especially spending time with her family and friends. Susan was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Dick Salo.

She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Slothouber; mother, Virginia Salo; two sisters, Tina (Bill) Schroeder and Bonnie Salo; two grandsons, Private Spencer Slothouber and Carter Slothouber; one nephew, Ross Chandonnet; one niece, Holly Vermeersch; and two great-nieces, Madi and Emily Vermeersch.

Visitation: 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 until the 2 p.m. funeral service at the Journey Church in Cloquet. Interment service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30 at Round Lake Cemetery.
