Weather cooperates for Esko track meet

Esko junior Aaron Moore gets a time of 11.80 seconds on the 100-meter dash during Tuesday's track meet in Esko.
Fittingly named, the Esko Vortex track meet was held April 16 at the Esko Sports Center. Many of the local schools participated in one of their first outdoor meets of the year and there were plenty of big results.
On the girls side, Zoie Johnson of Esko won the shot put with a toss of 33 feet, 6 inches. She followed up with a second-place effort in the discus with a throw of 101 feet, behind South Ridge-Cherry-Northwoods-Northeast Range sophomore Elle Ridge, who had a throw of 103-5.
