Cloquet's relay day isn't a normal track day

Cloquet eighth-grader Reese Miller takes the baton from Dylan Heehn for the final leg of a 4x100-meter relay in Friday's special Cloquet Relays event.

Friday's "Cloquet Relays" track meet featured plenty of the usual track and field events, but with a twist. Pole vaulters raced around the track with their poles. Shot put and discus throwers made their tosses, then headed to the track to run their own 4x100-meter race. Kids are encouraged to step outside their comfort zone and try new events, so the results varied widely. But it didn't matter, because the Cloquet Relays are not a normal day at the track. Heck, the coaches even raced Friday.
