Two hundred students and 25 staff from Carlton High School and two community volunteers participated in this year's Carlton Clean Up on May 17, raking yards, cleaning up brush and bagging leaves and debris from 18 yards and Hillside Cemetery.

Although Carlton High School graduation has come and gone as with other area schools, I thought it might be interesting to visit the Carlton County Historical Society for a look at the history of Carlton High School.

From the Carlton County Historical Society:

The Carlton school located in the county seat was destroyed by fire three times. The first two schools were wooden structures, and fire equipment and access to water to fight the fires was limited. The second school was built in the 1890s and was destroyed by fire in 1895.
