Sue Brown Chapin has been teaching watercolor classes in Carlton County for more than 10 years. This week she brought her lessons to the shores of Lac La Belle at the Historic Scott House for a series of one-day classes on the basics of watercolor process.

Chapin grew up in an artistic household. Her mother, Betty Brown, was a beloved artist in Carlton County. In 2006 she started painting and fell in love with the watercolor medium. She is very active in the arts and is a member of the Arrowhead Art Club and president of Artists of Minnesota.
