Obituary: Linda Marie (Lindquist) Berthiaume

Linda M. Berthiaume, age 66 of Cloquet, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth with her loving husband, Mike and family by her side. She was born November 21, 1952 in Duluth to Paul and Frances (Hart) Lindquist. Linda graduated from William Kelly High School in Silver Bay. She started her long nursing career by attending DAVTI, now Lake Superior College, graduating with her LPA Degree in 1975. She later earned her RN Degree in 2001 from N.Y. State University in their home study program. Linda worked at Miller Dawn Hospital, Carlton Nursing Home, Raiter Clinic, and lately at Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 2018. She also worked part time at Liberalis and House of Spirits to pay for college.

Linda was a member of Scanlon Volunteer Fire Dept. for 20 years as a firefighter and First Responder. This is where she met her future husband. Linda and Mike were married on October 4, 2014. Linda loved traveling around the U.S., Canada, and even "across the pond" three times. Her and Mike were always planning that next trip. Linda like camping, reading, plays, movies, watching grandkids, playing sports, and eating out, Linda hated cooking.

Linda was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her father, Paul Lindquist. She is survived by her wonderful loving husband, Mike; her mother and stepfather, Fran and Bill Ylatupa of Silver Bay; brothers, Jeff (Pam) Ylatupa of Silver Bay, Steve (Donna) Lindquist of Florida; beautiful granddaughter, Harleigh and her father, Avery. She is also survived by her stepdaughters Michele (Jesse) Struthers, Melanie (Dan) Lund, Heather (George Wilton) Mattson; stepsons, Dennis Berthiaume, Jerry (Heather) Berthiaume, and James Kohn; and nine more wonderful step grandkids; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. The visitation will resume on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service at Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet, followed with a luncheon in the social hall.
