There is a new minister for the Bethlehem and Bethany Lutheran parish: Pastor Debra L. Hanson-Carlson will begin her ministry July 1, with her first worship service on July 7. She and her husband will be living in Wright at the former home of Yvonne

Peterson, now owned by Tyler Grones. Let’s welcome the Hanson-Carlsons to our area.

Our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Gloria Mae Bertelsen Kelley, 73, of Tamarack, who died June 9 at her home. A memorial service was held June 16 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell.

The Diamond Match former employee picnic begins at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Northridge Park in Esko. It’s not on Aug. 3, as previously announced. Sorry about the confusion, and please pass the word.

The going-away party for Rick and Pimpa Gresczyk’s exchange students, Tem and Ji-Min, was well-attended and they thanked everyone who came out to bid them farewell June 10.

Bethany Lutheran Church will offer vacation Bible school June 28-31 for preschool-6th grade kids in the area. Call Julie Hedin or the church at 644-3640 to register.

Don’t forget to attend the Cromwell Area Community Club’s steak fry and silent auction 4-7 p.m. Friday, June 28, followed by a talent show at 7.

The Villa Vista and Cardinal Courts annual summer carnival for family and friends of the residents has been postponed until August.

Wrong Days in Wright is looking for its next queen and king. Any elementary student interested in selling buttons, participating in coronation and riding in the parade Saturday, July 20, please call Faith Nyberg at 701-388-9065.

A National Bell Ringing ceremony is at the Villa Vista and Cardinal Court Wednesday July 3 with a community picnic at noon, an honor guard presenting the flag and bell ringing at 1 p.m.

The ninth annual Kaleb Anderson Memorial 5K Family Fun Run/Walk is Saturday, July 6. Registration forms are available at the Northview Bank in Cromwell and other area businesses.

The Wright Senior Citizens are remodeling their center and would welcome donations toward the job. If interested, send checks to Wright Seniors, care of Ray Gurske, 1576 Kibart Road, Wright, MN 55798.

The Cromwell Class of 1961 yearly reunion luncheon is July 17 at the Black Bear Seven Fires Steakhouse restaurant. We will meet at 11:30 a.m. Please pass the word.

The Cromwell Class of 1956 annual reunion at the Big Top in Wright is at noon Saturday, July 20. Two picnic tables will be reserved.
