Obituary: Frank L. Carter

Frank L. Carter, 75, lifelong resident of Cloquet, Minn. passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 in his home.

He was born June 22, 1944 to Douglas and Lorraine (Proulx) Carter.

Frank was a 1963 graduate of Cloquet High School. Frank worked for the Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital, retiring in 2005 as a maintenance engineer. Frank previously worked for the Cloquet Public Schools as a janitor and Pacific Northwest Paper Company. In retirement and throughout his life, he was a handyman who could fix anything and enjoyed numerous hobbies. He also served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Frank loved restoring old cars and was a member of the Nifty Fifty Cruisers. He was known for his 1923 Ford T Bucket Roadster. He was one of the founding members of the Coachman Car Club. Frank was a member of Boy Scout Troop 171 and attained the rank of Eagle Scout.

Frank was preceded in death by his dad, Douglas Sr., and his brother John Carter. He leaves behind his mother, Lorraine Carter; son, Cory (Deb) Carter; daughter, Dawn (Josh) Hagen; two brothers, Michael (Karen) and Doug (Pam) Carter Jr .; one sister, Bonnie Carter; grandchildren Ethan Shovein, Ted and Katelyn Carter, and Annastyn Hagen; special friend, Marge Hunt; sister-in-law, Terri Carter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Mass on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. A lunch reception will follow in the church social hall.
