REACH Mentoring Program

Gallery hop on Thursday

August 30, 2019

Three is definitely not a crowd when it comes to art shows. On Thursday, Sept. 5, the Pine Knot News is partnering with the County Seat Theater and Magnolia Café for a gallery hop.

Start at the Pine Knot News for Karen SavageBlue’s art exhibition opening 5-7 p.m. at our office in Cloquet’s historic West End at 122 Avenue C. Enjoy refreshments provided courtesy of Cold One Liquor, and join a conversation with the artist. There will be things for kids to do too. The same evening, the Magnolia Café in Carlton will host an opening 6-8 p.m. featuring photographer Ryan Pennesi. At the Encore Performing Arts Center, also from 6-8 p.m., more than a dozen artists will show their works on the theme of the upcoming production of “Hilda’s Yard,” and guests are invited to take a peek at rehearsal while they’re there. “Hilda’s Yard” tells the story of Sam and Hilda Fluck, who find their empty nest suddenly re-populated. One such piece is a painting of the popular television comedian Lucille Ball, by Susan Krochalk (pictured).
