Folks are wearing their blaze orange again, and you know what that means. It’s time to eat (and shop) and hunt.

The hunters supper sponsored by the Cromwell Area Community Club will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at the Cromwell Pavilion. The cost is $10 for adults. Volunteers are needed too.

The hunters supper and bake sale at the Round Lake Presbyterian Church is 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, on County Road 6 or Goshawk Avenue.

The Beehive Community Club is holding its annual (all you can eat) mojakka dinner 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, on County Road 4.

The Lakeside Community Club will be holding its annual hunters mojakka stew supper at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright 4:30-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16. There will be drawings for small raffle prizes beginning at 5:50 p.m. Proceeds go toward a new roof at the Lakeside school.

The Red Bird Bazaar will be held at the Cromwell-Wright School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9. Get an early start to some shopping with our fantastic locals providing us with their wonderful items. This is also the 45th annual craft sale held during hunting season. Questions? The annual Bethany bazaar will be held at the church in Cromwell on Saturday, Nov. 16. Browse and buy at 12 p.m., with an auction at 1 p.m. Pie and coffee will be served.

The Veterans Day program at the Villa Vista will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 for all area veterans and their families. All community members are welcome, and veterans are encouraged to stay for lunch. Even if I try my best to proofread my news column there are mistakes from time to time. This time I had the wrong cemetery. It’s Lakeview that is looking for donations, not Lakeside. But, I’m sure you can understand the confusion when both cemeteries have such similar names. So, donations for the Lakeview Cemetery (the one located within the Wright city limits) can be sent to the Lakeview Cemetery Association c/o Pam and Bob Rahja, 1445 Hart Road, Tamarack MN 55787. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. Sorry for the misinformation, although I’m sure any of our area cemeteries can use the help.

Jim and Julie Gronbeck are proud to announce the birth of their grandson, Owen Daniel Krenz, born to their daughter Andrea and husband Dan. Congrats to all. Jim was pastor at Bethlehem and Bethany 1984-1991.

The United Methodist Church in Cromwell invites the community to a special musical service at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24. Paul and Hilary Kyle will share their ministry with wonderful singing and insightful teachings. They live in Minneapolis, after having migrated from Northern Ireland.

Four beautiful young ladies — Elizabeth Meyer, Taylah Pfisthner, Avery Koivisto and Payton Rosbacka — were confirmed at Bethany on Oct. 27 with family and friends in attendance. Congratulations and God’s blessings!

The funeral service for Larry Hamren will be held Sunday, Nov. 17, with visitation at 1 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem in Wright.

I just returned from the County Seat Theater’s performance of “One Christmas Carol” starring Rick Breuer. This one-man show was adapted from the Charles Dickens story and was just great. It will be showing again on Nov. 8, 9 and 10 at the Encore Performing Art Center. Get your tickets soon.

The Cromwell Area Young Old Timers will be having their Thanksgiving potluck dinner and meeting at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Cromwell Park Pavilion.

All are invited to Community Yoga from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Mondays at the Cromwell Pavilion on Nov. 11, 18 and 25.

Feel free to join the community coffee hour at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell, 8:30-10 a.m. every Monday.

The Christmas Caring program is asking for donations for this year’s gift distribution to our area youth. Donations of new toys, gift cards, snow pants, etc. can be dropped off in the boxes at area churches or brought to Pam Issendorf at the Clothing Depot on Thursdays.
