November 15, 2019

Zahwa G. Pringle, 24 of California/Cloquet/Duluth, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. He was born in San Jose, California, on August 22, 1995 and relocated to Cloquet on July 1, 2002 at the age of nearly 7. Zahwa graduated with the 2014 Cloquet High School class with a large group of great friends! Zahwa is liked by everyone! The love that has poured in from all those he has touched is a reflection of how much he connected with and loved others. Zahwa has always had a strong magnetic energy! His core friend group meant the world to Zahwa! As the hat says: “Loyalty over Everything!”

What many people came to know about Zahwa is his resiliency, the result of having had pain and disconnection in his life that he had to overcome as a child. We find our people often “self-medicating,” pain like this. This changed Zahwa’s life in the last two years.

For the huge numbers of people who showed their love, offering connection, empathy, and care: thank you! Please pray for Zahwa on his transition.

Much of the summer Zahwa was at the BBQ preparing dinners. He could also be found enjoying one of his favorite things which are to relax on a warm day inside of a hammock in the beautiful nature found in Minnesota, along Park Point.

Zahwa is both strong and powerful as well as sensitive and loving. His friends often remarked that In high school he was always willing to help others. The big group of friends who shared laughter and lots of memories including, basketball, hockey, snowboarding, skiing, wrestling, hiking, travels and enjoying great food together will live on forever! Z Man experienced life!

His favorite places to be were California, back “home,” beaches, and he could be found eating at the Korean BBQ, enjoying boba tea, matcha green tea ice cream after a delicious sushi meal. his impressive cooking and Tiramisu! He was a regular for quite some time at Hanabi!

Zahwa loved visiting LA, Boulder, and Santa Cruz- he loved eating seafood at the wharf from the time he was a young boy with Mama watching the pelicans and seals, playing on the beach most days. He loved sitting at the counter at Jalapeno’s waiting to get a fresh-made burrito! He embraced multi-cultural diversity, multi-ethnic food, and culture and loved trying many new things.

Zahwa is a Wise man, a good spirit in a vicious world: sometimes it seemed as if he was not as emotionally effuse as he matured but it was his impressive inner world; his stellar intuitive abilities and his critical thinking that distinguished him in many ways. This was often interpreted as a sense that he was much older and wiser than his actual years!

Zahwa is wished a beautiful journey as he joins The Ancestors where he will rest in peace and power!

Zahwa is survived by his Mama, Karen L. Pringle; Father, Junior “Puddu,” Dawes, Brother Zahia Dawes, lots of aunties, uncles, cousins and grandparents in Jamaica & Holland, Mel Pringle, Grandmother, Kenneth W. Pringle, Grandfather, Jeff & Laura Pringle, Uncle & Aunt,
