Moose Lake Area-5 (OT)

Elyssa Durie of Hibbing-Chisholm scored just 16 seconds into the overtime session to give the Bluejackets the win. The Rebels led 3-2 after the first period on goals by Gabby Gamst and two goals by Jamie Benzie. Hibbing scored the only two goals of the second period and led 4-3 entering the third, but back-to-back goals by Sandra Ribich and Savannah Gamst gave the Rebels a 5-4 lead with a little over 10 minutes to play in regulation before the Bluejackets tied the game up and forced the overtime session.

Kaylee Acheson led the scoring for the Bulldogs with 17 points in a game that saw Carlton lead 33-11 at the half. Brynne Mickle and Alaina Bennett were also in double-digit scoring with 12 and 10 points respectively.

South Ridge-47

Duluth Denfeld-31

The Panthers raced out to a nine point halftime lead and never looked back as they cruised to the 16-point victory behind a 21-point effort from Adelia Olesiak. Raina Schneider also added double-digit scoring with 10 points for the Panthers.

Tristan Johnson with 13 points and Ben Wood with 11 points led the Panthers who struggled offensively against the aggressive Rails defense. Proctor held South Ridge to 26 points in the first half.

Silver Bay-65

Carlton-59

Only three players scored for the Mariners in their win over the Bulldogs, but the 38-point night from Mason Ollman and the 25-point night from Riley Tiboni was enough to offset a more balanced attack from the Bulldogs. Both Ollman and Tiboni hit seven 3-pointers in the game. Matt Santkuyl led Carlton with 19 points, Ben Soderstrom added 17 and it was 13 points for Ryan Gray.

The Thunderhawks blitzed the Cloquet defense for 54 points in the second half as they took the 34-point win against the ’Jacks. Adam Schneider with 18 points and Dylan Heehn with 11 points were the only players to reach double-digit scoring for the Lumberjacks.

Friday, Dec. 13

The Eskomos got a 29-point effort from Payton Wefel, but it was not enough to overcome the strong start in the first half by the Greyhounds who led by 13 at halftime. Travor Spindler added 19 points and Eli Blue chipped in with 16 for the Eskomos.

The Tigers led by nine at halftime and then pulled away in the second half to the easy win over the ’Jacks by outscoring Cloquet 48-29 in the second stanza. Adam Schneider led the ’Jacks with 18 points while Dylan Heehn added 13 and Alec Turnbull had 10 points.

South Ridge-75

The Panthers got double-digit scoring from three players in the win. Ben Wood recorded 19 points, Austin Josephson scored 16 points and Jaxson Bennett aided with 15 points for South Ridge.

Micah Pocernich went off for 36 points to lead the Cards. Gage Zoeller had 18 and Ethan Shelton added 13 in the win for Cromwell. Leading Wrenshall was Austin Larva with 11 points.

Brady Watrin’s 22-point effort led the Rebels to the win. Mason Olson added another 14 points for ML/WR over Barnum. Both Jake Hultgren and Blaze Hurst were in double-digit scoring for the Bombers with 11 and 10 points respectively.

The Greyhounds held the Eskomos to just seven first-half points and then held on for the win. Jayden Karppinen’s 14 points led the Eskomos and Kristy DeMuth also added 10 for Esko.

Jordan Fjosne had four goals for the Rebels and a couple of assists for a 6-point night in leading the Rebels to the impressive win.

The Wilderness fell at home to the Blizzard after falling behind by three goals in the second period. Blake Holmes, Mitch Allard and Jacob Herter scored for the Wilderness.

The ’Jacks fell behind by eight points at halftime and were never able to get things back on track in the 19-point loss. Maddie Young and Alexa Snesrud led the Lumberjacks with 11 and 10 points respectively.

The Rebels followed up their win over Ely by picking up a win over the Spartans behind the 18 saves of Mallory Hartl. Maddi Franta picked up two goals for the Rebels.

Minnesota Wilderness-6

St. Cloud Blizzard-0

Garrett Worth scored twice as the Wilderness won on the road in St. Cloud. The Wilderness, who lost at home on Friday to St. Cloud, returned the favor in St. Cloud by jumping on the Blizzard in the first period with three goals. Jacob Herter, Alex Cokley, Bram Scheerer and Lewis Crosby also added markers for the Wilderness.

The Ogichida led 26-19 at halftime, but struggled to score in the second half. Namida Reynolds led the Ogichidaa with 10 points, but FDL had a hard time stopping Jenna Smith of the Nighthawks, who finished with a game high 21 points.

Both Micah Pocernich and Gage Zoeller scored 18 points while Taye Anderson also had a big night with 17 points to lead the Cards to the victory.

Cole Ketola scored all three of the Lumberjacks goals and Christian Galatz picked up three assists as the ’Jacks won on the road in Hibbing.

Girls Hockey

The ’Jacks stayed hot with an impressive win against the Tigers. Both Jaxie Pogorelc and Taylor Nelson scored twice and Lauren Maslowski had to make only two saves in goal to pick up the shutout victory.

North Shore-6

Tied at 1-1 heading into the third period, the Rebels were outscored 5-2 in the final period. Jamie Benzie had a goal and an assist to lead the Rebel offense while both Gabby Gamst and Savannah Gamst also scored in the game.

Kayden Palmi led the Panthers with a 20-point night, Jaxson Bennett added 14 and Austin Josephson recorded 10 points in the win.

Markus Pokornowski had a huge night, scoring 38 points for the ’Jacks. Adam Schneider was nearly as impressive with a 24-point night for Cloquet.

Brady Watrin led the Rebels with a 33-point night. Mason Olson and Michael Olson added 21 and 18 points, respectively.
