South Ridge held an eight-point halftime lead but couldn’t hang on as the Eagles flew back in the second half to take the win by outscoring the Panthers 32-21 in the second stanza. Leading the Panthers in scoring were Ben Wood with 13 points, Mason Lane with 12 and Austin Josephson with 10. Also scoring were Jaxson Bennett with seven, Kayden Palmi four and two each for Tristan Johnson and Nick Larson.

The Rebels got off to a 42-31 lead at halftime and then held on as the Lumberjacks second half comeback fell just short. Mason Olson led the Rebels with 26 points, Brady Watrin added eight and it was six each for Ben Dewey, Duane Broughton, Michael Olson and Landin Kurhajets. Both Sam Dewey and Phillip Sheetz scored five points each while Carter Johnson had one. The ‘Jacks were led by the 16 points of Adam Schneider, 15 points from Alec Turnbull, 11 points by Dylan Heehn and Markus Pokornowski scored 10. Also scoring for Cloquet: Tyler Issendorf and Jack Sorenson with five points each and Nate Blatchford’s three points.

Giana Kneepens and Grace Kirk combined for 68 of the Hilltoppers points with Kneepens pouring in 44. Maddie Young led the ’Jacks with 18 points and Kate Owens added 10 points. Also scoring for Cloquet were Gracie Meagher and Cristina Genita with eight points each, Justice Paro with six, Caley Kruse with five, Kiley Issendorf with four and Alexa Snesrud with two.

Cole Ketola scored with no time left on the clock in the first period and the ’Jacks added two more in the second as they held on to beat the Spartans in a penalty-filled game. Kyle Siiter, Hunter Finnila and Logan Dushkin all scored for the Lumberjacks, who got a 26 save performance from Jacob Walsh in the nets. CEC threw 52 shots on the Spartan goal.

After suffering their first loss in 18 games earlier in the week, the Lumberjacks bounced back to down the Lightning. Lily Hanson scored a pair of goals in the win. Taylor Nelson, Dana Jones and Dea DeLeon also scored for CEC. Araya Kiminski made 14 saves to get the road win in the nets.

The Rebels trailed 1-0 entering the third period, but rallied with goals from Jamie Benzie and Lexi Bonneville as they overtook the Riveters behind the 25-save effort of Jo Wekseth in the nets. Bonneville’s game-winning goal came on the power play with 1:19 left in regulation to secure the win.

The Panthers struggled to stop the Mariner duo of Mason Ollman and Riley Tiboni, who finished with 32 and 17 points respectively. Silver Bay led by two at halftime and parlayed that lead into a 10-point win over the Panthers, who were led by the 18 points of Mason Lane. Kayden Palmi added 11 points for South Ridge. Ben Wood scored 10, Jaxson Bennett eight, Austin Josephson six points and both Noah Sertich and Nick Larson added two.

Payton Wefel, James LeGarde and Eli Blue were all in double-digit scoring for the Eskomos. Wefel led Esko with 25 points, LeGarde chipped in 19 and Blue added 10. Also scoring for Esko were Riley Fischer with nine, Connor Lahti with three and two points each for Jonah Randa and Chad Hart.

Emily Bohnsack scored four, Carmen Hoffman added three while Skyla Thompson, Alivia Mallory and Monica Mikrot finished with two each.

The Panthers staked themselves to a 49-8 halftime lead as they eased to an easy victory over the Mariners behind the 26-point effort of Adelia Olesiak and 13 points from Paris Fierkelepp. Both Svea Snickers and Alana Young added nine points for the Panthers, Phylesha Preston scored five, Raina Schneider added four and Lexi Bergum one.

The Wildcats scored four goals in the first period and four more in the third to take the win over the Rebels. Jack Egen, Jordan Fjosne and Henry Ribich scored the goals for the Rebels. Goaltender Henry Dammer made 54 saves on 63 shots by the Wildcats.

Jordan Brown lit it up for the Ogichidaa by scoring 41 points, but it was not enough to overcome the depth of Red Lake and their star player Delwyn Holtsen, who hit for 43 points. Joining Brown in the scoring column for FDL were Ken Fox with 10 points, while Conner Barney, Jalen Paulson and Rolo Defoe scored eight each.

After Tyler Watkins scored the first goal of the game for the Wilderness, the Jets reeled off the next four goals on their way to the victory in Proctor in front of a packed house. Aaron Meyers and Bram Scheerer scored in the third period for the Wilderness, but they were trailing 5-1 and were unable to make up the difference.

Randy Zimmer had eight points, Austin Larva five, Peyton Johnson three and Alex Brownie, Zeke Rousseau, Kaden Olesen, Joey Mills and Jacob Murray scored two each. Corey Despot scored one.

Leading the Panthers were Adelia Olesiak with nine and Paris Fierkelepp with eight. Alana Young, Mercedes Lawrence and Raina Schneider each had four points, while Svea Snicker, Lexi Bergum, Lauren Olson and Leanna Olson all had two points.

In a huge seeding game for the Section 7AA tournament, the Lumberjacks gave up a goal just 12 seconds in and then erupted for eight straight goals to win. After trailing late into the second period, CEC got back-to-back goals from Logan Duskin and Brayden Tyman in the last two minutes of the period to take a lead 2-1 after the second stanza. In the third period, the Lumberjacks got a pair of goals from Travis Berg, and goals from Kaden Crane, Sam Baker, Christian Galatz and Jaxton Ochis to win in running time.

Despite 49 saves from goalie Henry Dammer, the Rebels still fell short in the loss at home to the Storm. Adam Olson scored twice and Henry Ribich scored the other goal for the Rebels.

The Lumberjacks erupted for four first-period goals to set the tone early against the Storm. Kiana Bender scored the first two goals of the game followed by Ashtyn Schneberger and Taylor Nelson in the first period. Nelson added two more goals in the second period to become the all-time scoring leader in CEC history. Dana Jones and Lily Hanson both scored in the third period to give the ’Jacks the win in running time. Senior Lauren Maslowski made four saves to get the win.

Jo Wekseth finished with 27 saves for the Rebels, but the Blue Jackets managed a goal in the first period, two more in the second and another in the third to take the win over the Rebels. Raechel Painovich scored the only goal of the game for the Rebels.
