The Lumberjacks fell behind by 16 points at halftime and struggle to defend the Bluejackets who got a 24-point night from Ayden McDonald and double-digit scoring from three others in pulling out the win over Cloquet. Adam Schneider led Cloquet with 16 points, Dylan Heehn scored 14, both Markus Pokornowski and Alec Turnbull finished with eight points. Also scoring were Nathan Blatchford (4), Jack Sorenson (3) and Tyler Issendorf (2).

In one of the highest scoring games ever recorded in northeastern Minnesota, the Grizzlies outlasted the Rebels in double overtime. The Rebels had two players score 30 points or more: Brady Watrin with 39 and Mason Olson with 30. Phillip Sheetz added 15 points. Also scoring were Michael Olson (7), Landon Kurhajetz (5), plus Ben Dewey and Duane Broughton with four each. Trevor Morrison led the Grizzlies with 34 points.

Trailing by nine at halftime the Lumberjacks kept things interesting in the second half, but fell short on the scoreboard despite a 14-point effort from Maddie Young and the 12-point night of Alexa Snesrud. The Bluejackets were able to get to the free throw line 19 times during the game to score 11 points while Cloquet was just 2-for-4 from the line. Gracie Meagher added six points for Cloquet.,Christina Genita , Kiley Issendorf and Justice Paro scored four each and Caley Kruse had three.

The Eskomos jumped out to a 30-point lead at halftime and handled the Panthers easily. Jayden Karppinen (20 points) and Kristy Demuth (18 points) led Esko. Also scoring for Esko were Brenna Stark with nine points(9), Gabel and Mallory Sunnarborg (3). Paris Fierkelepp and Adelia Olesiak scored seven points each for the Panthers, Lexi Bergum had six, Svea Snickers four, Alana Young two and Rylee Young scored one.

Maci Kukuk, Natalie Mikrot and Ella Rhoades all were in double figures for the Rebels with 15, 13 and 10 points, respectively. The Rebels led it 33-19 at halftime and then held on for the win in the second half. Also scoring for ML/WR were Monica Mikrot (7), Grace Stephenson (4), Skyla Thompson and Emily Bohnsack (2) and Sarah Christy (1).

Joe Peterson had 25 points, Blaze Hurst had 22 and Jake Hultgren scored 12 points to lead the Bombers to the win. Also scoring were Reed Kornovich (5), William Richardson (3). Garrett Coughlin and Matthew Berry finished with two points each in a game that was tied at halftime.

The 'Cards and Mariners were knotted up at 32-32 at halftime, but Cromwell-Wright broke through just enough in the second half to secure the win behind a 38-point effort from Micah Pocernich. Also scoring were Gage Zoeller (10), Ethan Shelton (9), Garrett Zoeller (6) and Taye Anderson (3).

Simon LaPrarie launched a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Ogichidaag the win in Cloquet. Connor Barney led FDL with 19, it was 15 each for Jesus Delapaz, Rolo Defoe and Laprarie, while Jalen Paulson added 12 and Devin Porter four points.

The Rebels won every battle enroute to an easy win over the Agates. Brady Watrin finished the night with 26 points and Mason Olson added 23 to lead the Rebels on the scoreboard. After coming out of the first half tied 49-49, the Esko defense held Brooklyn Center to just 31 second-half points as both Eli Blue and James LeGarde poured in 25 points apiece and Jonah Randa also had a big night with 17 points to lead the Eskomos to the win. Also scoring for Esko were Preston Lowe (5), Chad Hart and Jerry Andler (4), Brade Gabel (3) and Trevor Spindler (2).

Trailing 25-20 at halftime, the Bombers stormed back to tie the game and send it to overtime where they eventually won behind a 21-point performance from Alli Marine and 19-points from Makenzee Schleret. Both Rayna Klejeski and Anessa Davis scored five points and Kyra Heaton and Madisen Warnygora had two points each.

The Rebels got three first-period goals to nab an early lead and secure the win. Jordan Fjosne scored once and Paxton Vogel scored twice in the opening period for MLA. Jack Ergen added the second-period goal for the Rebels and Henry Ribich scored the final goal of the game in the third period. Henry Dammer made 37 saves in the net for the Rebels to get the win.

The Cards slipped out to an eight-point halftime lead and fended off MIB in a game featuring two of the top Class A programs in northern Minnesota. The No. 2 ranked Cards were led by the 28 points of Taya Hakamaki and Shaily Hakamaki with 13. Joining the scoring parade for the Cards were Natalee Hakamaki with nine, Andrea Pocernich seven and two points for Emmalee Hoover.

Alexa Snesrud had the biggest night of her career, scoring 25 points. Cloquet led 25-18 at halftime, but were unable to hold on for the win. Also scoring were Justice Paro (9), Katie Turner (8), Maddie Young (5) and both Gracie Meagher and Caley Kruse (2).

The Lumberjacks were outshot by a 37-10 margin, but Jacob Walsh stood tall in the nets for the CEC, recording 35 saves and slamming the door on the Bears. Aaron Moore and Darian Durand both scored in the first period giving CEC a 2-0 lead. The ’Jacks added three goals in the second period as Kaden Crane scored shorthanded, Durand scored again and Cole Ketola also tallied to offset the lone goal of the period for White Bear Lake. White Bear Lake cut the lead to 5-2 early in the third period, but the ’Jacks defense clamped down and the game ended when Christian Galatz scored an empty net goal making the final 6-2.

The Wilderness took the road win when Kimball Johnson scored the overtime goal 3:56 into the extra session. Minnesota led 1-0 on a goal by Bram Scheerer late in the first period, but the Bobcats knotted the game at 1-1 midway through the second period.

The Rails held a six-point halftime lead and slowly pulled away to the 15-point win in the second half behind a 29-point night by Dylan Horn. Jake Hultgren led the Bombers with 13 points and both Reed Kornovich and Joe Peterson scored nine. Also scoring for Barnum were Willie Richardson (8), Braiden Davis (3) and it Garrett Coughlin (2).

The Bulldogs led by six at halftime and that was all they needed as they held off the pesky Tigers. Ben Soderstrom led Carlton with 23 points, Ryan Gray scored 19 and Matt Santkuyl 12. Also scoring for Carlton were Sawyer Thorman and Austin Parker (3) and Adam Hey and Justin Swanson (2).

The red-hot Rebels turned up the heat in a game where they led 75-18 at halftime. Brady Watrin scored 26, Mason Olson had 23 and Phillip Sheetz scored 13 to lead the Rebels. Also scoring were Michael Olson (9), Duane Broughton (7), Carter Johnson and Landin Kurhajetz (6). Ben Dewey, Sam Dewey, Chance Lund and Drew Danielson scored five points each.

The second-ranked Cards kept things rolling by downing a very good Hilltopper team on the road in Duluth. Natalee Hakamaki led the scoring barrage with 19 points, Shaily Hakamaki added 16 and Taya Hakamaki finished with 12 for the win. Also scoring were Emmalee Hoover (9) and Andrea Pocernich (3). The high-flying Cards are now 19-2 on the season.

The Lumberjacks came into the final game of the season needing a win. CEC entered the game fifth in the Section 7AA QRF rankings and a win would have propelled them into a home game for next week’s playoffs. Unfortunately, the Thunderhawks had different plans as they scored a goal in each period to secure the win behind the goaltending of Carter Clafton who made every save to get the shutout in the nets.
