State continues to report disparate numbers of confirmed cases for Carlton County

April 3, 2020

As the numbers of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Carlton County continue to climb, finding out the exact number of cases continues to be an issue.

On Thursday, April 2, the Minnesota Department of Health and Gov. Tim Walz's office had Carlton County with three confirmed cases, but the Minnesota Department of Corrections reported four confirmed cases at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Moose Lake.

Today, Friday, April 3, MDH is reporting five cases in Carlton County, while the DOC is reporting seven confirmed cases at its Moose Lake facility, with one test still pending. Four patients have recovered there, according to today's update.

Carlton County officials have expressed frustration with the differing numbers, but have said they will continue to report what the MDH gives them.
