Andrew A. Korkala, 90, of Cloquet passed away March 18, 2020 at Augustana Care in Moose Lake.

He was born Oct. 4, 1929 in Revonlahti, Finland to Eino and Selma Korkala.

Andrew served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a welder in construction and other industries. Andrew loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and taking walks.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Emma and Ellen.

He is survived by his children, Lee Korkala, Mitchell Korkala, Warren (Marsha) Korkala, Kathy McMullen, and Kimberly Korkala Paulson; sisters Kathleen (Larry) Lindquist, Barbara (Don) Rowe, and Ann King; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: 2 p.m. graveside memorial service Sunday, June 21 at the Van Buren Cemetery north of Floodwood. Military Honors will be presented by the Floodwood Honor Guard. Funeral arrangements are with Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet.
