FDLTCC releases spring dean’s list

Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet announced that 149 students attending the college during spring semester achieved high academic standing and earned dean’s list honors. Requirements for the list include maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher while completing 12 or more course credits during the semester. A total of 1,358 full-time and part-time students were enrolled at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College this past spring.

Concordia awards two scholarships

Two Cloquet High School graduates have been awarded scholarships to attend Concordia College, in Moorhead. Concordia is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Patrice Eakman, daughter of Peter Eakman and Anne McBride, received an “Excellence” scholarship. Eakman is in the music program at Concordia.


Harold's Flapjack Fiasco for St. Jude's is Sunday, April 28 from 8am-12pm at the Four Seasons Sports Complex in Carlton. Adults $8, Free for kids 5 and younger.

Hanna Green, daughter of Ryan and Victoria Green, received a “Presidential” scholarship.

Dean’s lists

The following students from the region earned dean’s list honors this past spring:

University

of Minnesota

From Cloquet: Mikayla Baker, senior, science and engineering; Luke Lamirande, freshman, liberal arts; Jared Leslie, sophomore, liberal arts; Isaac Stone, junior,science and engineering.

To qualify, a student must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 GPA.

Bemidji State

University

Erin Habhegger, Cloquet.

To be eligible, BSU students must be enrolled for at least 12 credits and earn a 3.5 GPA during the semester.

St. Cloud State

University

From Cloquet: Austin Gotchnik, land surveying/mapping science; Sierra Vorderbruggen, art education.

To be eligible, students must have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher.

Local students earn degrees

Cloquet’s Kassidy Steen earned a degree in biomedical sciences, summa cum laude, from St. Cloud State University this spring.
