The 2021 Carlton County Historical Society’s barn calendars are available at the Pine Knot News office in Cloquet, Widdes Farm and Feed in Esko, and TJ’s in Mahtowa. You can also call Barb Dahl at 218-355-8644 or 644-3691. Calendars are $10 each.

Three of this year’s featured barns are Mark Groth’s barn, the Samuelson barn and the Mattila brothers’ barn (now owned by Robert and Darci Dahl). I’m not sure, but I’m pretty sure that the late Carl Hanson built two of these barns back in the day. Carl was a master carpenter and specialized in barn raisings.
