Raptors senior running back Kyle Siiter is shoved out of bounds and loses the ball just short of the goal line Friday in Esko. Zeke Rousseau scored the first touchdown for the Raptors in a subsequent play. Siiter scored two touchdowns for the Raptors Friday.

Kyle Siiter scored a pair of touchdowns and the Carlton-Wrenshall Raptors picked up their second win of the season with a 26-6 win over the McGregor Mercuries in a District 9 White Conference high school football game on Friday.

Zeke Rousseau and Siiter both scored in the first quarter for the Raptors with Rousseau running two yards for a score and Siiter plowing in from five yards away as Carlton-Wrenshall jumped to a 13-0 lead after the Kristian Herman extra point kick on the first score by Rousseau.

"I thought Kyle Sitter had another very solid game both offensively and defensively," said Raptors coach Jeremy Zywicki. "Kyle finished with 14 carries for 74 yards and scored two touchdowns for us."

After a scoreless second quarter, the Raptors added another touchdown run from Siiter in the third. Freshman quarterback Sam Ojibway topped off the scoring in the fourth quarter.

A big key to the win was the solid defense played throughout the game by the Raptors.

"We came out with a very solid defensive game plan that we thought could shut their rushing attack down," Zywicki said. "The kids did a great job executing that game plan. Drew Dean broke a big run where we missed some tackles on, but other than that I thought we played great defensively."

After an opening game loss to Cromwell-Wright Area this season, the Raptors won their second in a row and are now 2-1.
