Council to add delinquent utilities to taxes

During the Nov. 17 meeting, Cloquet City Councilors approved adding a longer-than-usual list of delinquent city utility bills to the tax rolls for the listed properties. This allows residents a longer time to pay the bills without penalties, said finance director Nancy Klassen.
Klassen also suggested people who are struggling to pay utility bills (as well as housing payments) because they were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic apply for assistance from the state.
