Obituaries: Patricia Ann Dickison

Patricia Ann Dickison, 86, passed away April 4, 2021, at Sunnyside Health Care Center in Cloquet. Pat was born on Oct. 8, 1934, to Peter and Josephine (Jesse) Shotley in Cloquet.

She graduated in 1952 from Cloquet High School and received an associate's degree from St. Cloud Teachers College in 1955. She continued her studies in elementary education at the University of Minnesota Duluth, earning her master's degree in 1969 while working full-time. Pat taught elementary school in Barnum, Mahtowa, Babbitt, Wrenshall, and Scanlon.

She was a proud member of the Fond du Lac Band of Chippewa. Pat was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and belonged to the Moonlighters Camping Club, Big Lake Golf Club, and the Elders Concern Group at Fond du Lac. She enjoyed the activities at Fond du Lac, such as exercise class and outings. Pat enjoyed the casino, playing cards, camping and golf.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Leon Shotley; her daughter Mary Hintz; and brother-in-law, Duane Putnam.

Survivors include her brother Burton Shotley; sister, Evelyn Putnam; daughters Joanne (Hank) Kucin and Tammy Dickison; son-in-law Barry Hintz; two grandchildren, Jordan (Julie) Hintz and Aubrey (Dylan) Stanford; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank-you to Fond du Lac Assisted Living for the wonderful care they gave Pat. A heartfelt thank you to Barry Hintz for taking care of Pat over the years.

Celebration of Life: Scheduled for 3-5 p.m. Thursday, April 8 in Nelson Funeral Care Chapel.
