Obituaries: Betty Lorraine Dancer

Betty Lorraine Dancer, 91, of Cloquet passed away June 12, 2021, in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. She was born June 29, 1929, in Sandstone to John and Alice (Dupuis) Voit.

Betty grew up in Sandstone and graduated from Sandstone High School in 1947. She married Kenneth Dancer on June 16, 1948 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Sandstone.

Betty had been a member of Sandstone Evangelical Free Church, Virginia Bible Chapel, and Faith Baptist Church in Hermantown. She had written many short stories and poems and was a wonderful cook and baker. Music was an important part of her life. She enjoyed singing and playing the autoharp.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; sisters Doris Dancer and Ethel McDougall; brothers, Alvin and Carl Voit; and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Dancer.

She is survived and will be sadly missed by her daughter, Marilyn (Ed) Cass; son, Brian Dancer; sister Joan Tessier; five grandchildren, Heidi (Jaramie) Logelin, Shane (Natalie) Cass, Steve Cass, Missy (Bruce) Williams and Brian John (Deb) Dancer; 12 great-grandchildren, Cassie,

Charity, Kaleb, Lauren, Gabriel, Kyra, Noah, Ethan, Justin, Jasmine, Angela and Tommy; and five great-great-grandchildren, David, Maddy, Levi, Mickey and Emma.

Services were scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17 in the Atkins Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet. Burial will be in Spring Park Cemetery in Sandstone. To sign the guestbook and offer an online tribute, see http://www.atkinsnorthlandfuneralhome.com.
