Obituaries: Marguerite Ione Anderson

Marguerite I. Anderson, 100, passed away June 27, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. She was born March 20, 1921, in Foxboro, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles and Celia (Benge) Williams.

Marguerite graduated from Central High School in Superior in 1939. She was united in marriage to James "Jim" Norman Anderson on Dec. 16, 1939. Marguerite was a lifetime member and long-term secretary of the Sons of Norway Heimsyn Lodge 1-15 and longtime member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Carlton. She enjoyed dancing with Jim, spending time with family, watching sunsets over Chub Lake, reading, traveling the country, shopping, gardening, and playing cards with friends.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Jim Anderson, in 1999; daughter, Barbara (Leroy) Schelinder; sisters, Irene (Jesse) Brown, Inez (Howard) Milhouse and Charlene (Robert) Griese; brothers, Lynn (Gloria) Williams and Jack (Wilma) Williams; and other family and dear friends.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, James (Lois) Phillip Anderson; granddaughters, Colleen (Tom) Kittel, Darlene (Doug) Sharratt, Katrina (Charles) Hough and Tori Anderson; great-grandchildren, Shaylene, Kyleen (Nathan), Jared, Delaney, Ryleene and Charles Jr .; great-great-grandsons, Kaiden and Colt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Visitation: 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, July 6 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, followed by refreshments in the fellowship room. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Carlton. See the family online guestbook at http://www.nelsonfuneralcare.net.
