School is now underway and most of our kids and grandkids are back in the classroom. Let’s hope all goes well this year and they stay safe and well.

Yoga has resumed on Mondays, 11 a.m.-12 p.m., at the Cromwell Pavilion. $3, gear provided. Questions, call Ann Markusen 218-428-3300.

The Bethany Lutheran rummage and plant sale is 3-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24 and 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25. Donations can be brought in a couple of days ahead of time.

The community is invited to attend a graveside service for Reino Walli at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26 at Lakeside Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m.

There are two upcoming events at the Star Club Hall, 6350 Highway 27 in Kettle River. First, there is a steak fry 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 ($20 at the door or $18 in advance, contact Karen Youngberg, 218-658-4384, to preregister). After the steak fry there will be a dance 8-11 p.m. with Kenny Halverson and Mike from Mostly Cash. Then, on Oct. 9, the Star Club’s 100-year celebration will be held 2-11 p.m.

Cromwell-Wright school has developed a Safe Return to In-Person Learning plan in response to Covid-19 in our school community. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Minnesota Department of Health and American Academy of Pediatrics all strongly recommend the use of face masks by all persons, regardless of vaccination status, inside the building. At Cromwell-Wright, masks are optional and will not be required on the school grounds either inside or outside during the instructional day. All sports-related workouts and/or practices or competitions are subject to the rules designated by the Minnesota State High School League.
