Obituary: Mary Lou Maciewski

Mary Lou Maciewski, 63, of Cloquet passed away after a long battle with cancer on Sept. 16, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.

Mary was born in Cloquet on Nov. 20, 1957, to George and Minnie (Voller) Micklewright. She was raised in Cloquet and graduated from Cloquet schools. On July 25, 2012, Mary married her best friend, Mark Maciewski Sr.

Mary worked for Cloquet Memorial Hospital for 37 years as the manager of Central Supply before her retirement. She loved animals, enjoyed fishing and camping, was an avid reader and enjoyed her winter crafting. She was a strong-willed lady who enjoyed helping others.

Mary will be greatly missed by her stepson, Mark Maciewski Jr .; daughters, Lacee (Russell) Hobbs and Nicole Westcott, and stepdaughter, Kelsa Maciewski; brothers, Tom Micklewright, Charlie Micklewright, and Jim (Jody) Micklewright; sisters, Phyllis (Cliff) Gallup and Judy (Brian) Blais; and 13 nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Sr .; parents, George and Minnie; grandparents Anna and Marion; and sister-in-law, Janice.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service.
