Obituary: Clayton "Bruce" Lind

Clayton "Bruce" Lind, 77, of Alborn, passed away Dec. 29, 2021, at his home. He was born March 2, 1944, in Duluth, the son of George and Inez (Snickers) Lind Jr.

Bruce graduated from AlBrook High School in 1962, where he played in varsity sports. He was united in marriage to Linda Dallmann in 1964 and they had three children. Bruce worked in the Teamsters Union for the Duluth paper mill, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and being a mechanic. He later married the love of his life, Emily Hiltunen, and they enjoyed music and dancing together. Bruce was also instrumental in starting the Alborn volunteer fire department, of which he was a member for many years.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emily; and his stepfather, Leonard Olson. He is survived by his children, Kurt Lind, Toralf Lind and Anna Lind; stepdaughter, Robbin (Kyle) Tuominen; sisters, Carol Lind and Lenny (Dave) Johnson; grandchildren, Nicolette, Toriann, Kai, Kaleb, Klayton, Chelsey, Bradley, and Brenton (Mallory); and four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Bruce was held Jan. 4, 2022, at the Alborn Community Center. Should friends desire, memorials to the Alborn volunteer fire department in Bruce's memory are preferred. Arrangements are with Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet.
