Wood City festival returns to Cloquet Saturday

The Wood City Worship Festival kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 at Veterans Memorial Park in Cloquet. It’s BYOC (bring your own chair) for a full day of music and prayer.

The annual Christian music and worship festival is free to attend, and features a wide range of bands, kids’ activities, food, and prayer.

The day begins at 10 a.m. with a worship service in the park. Music begins at 12:15 p.m. with Old Man Down, followed by Derek Charles Johnson at 1:30 p.m., DGT Worship at 2:45 p.m., Trampolines at 4:15 p.m., Presence Music at 5:30 p.m., Bethany Worship at 7 p.m. and Cory Asbury headlining at 8:30 p.m.

It’s not just about the music, organizer Lee Harris said, or even religion. It’s also about community, family, and fun. Lee said the Kingdom Builders Ministries group feels God wants them to be the “hands and feet of Jesus” in the community.

For those who can’t just stroll down to the park in the center of Cloquet, there will be free parking in designated public parking lots and on-street parking.

There will be food for purchase, but people also are welcome to bring their own picnic items.

Organized by Kingdom Builders Ministries, the festival is supported by many local churches, with free admission made possible by donations.
