West End party coming soon
September 9, 2022
A walk through the West End of Cloquet most days is a quiet one. Anchored at one end by Common Ground Coffee Bar & Deli and the Lakeshore Tobacco Vapor store on the other, it’s the end of downtown that time forgot.
It will be anything but quiet on Saturday, Sept. 24.
Weather permitting, the West End Flourish street fair and car show will turn the historic part of town into a bustling, pedestrian-friendly festival. There will be art and artisans, live music all day, things to buy, demonstrations, food trucks and fun for kids ranging from yoga to bouncies to face painting and much more.
Pine Knot advertising director Ivan Hohnstadt dreamed up the first event last year, and aims to make this year even better.
“Folks, save the date. Consider being a part of the event too. We have 35 people committed and room for even more,” he said, rattling off names of artists, vendors, nonprofit organizations and businesses that will set up along the streets of the West End. “Call me.”
The West End Flourish September Celebration will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. Avenues B and C will be closed from Broadway to Arch streets and Vine Street and the VFW parking lot will be turned into a food court.
“Let’s wake up the West End,” Hohnstadt said.
