Barnum's Nicholas Finifrock died Friday at age 19. He is pictured here with, from left, Jon and Nathan Finifrock showing their "Finifrock Flock" sheep at the Carlton County fair in August.

Nicholas Jon Finifrock, 19, of Barnum, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2022. He was born on May 25, 2003, to Jon and Ann Finifrock in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. One day after his birth, Nicholas was airlifted because of seizures and other complications his tiny body was experiencing. One of his many medical diagnoses was cerebral palsy. He may have had CP, but CP didn't have Nicholas, family members wrote in his lengthy obituary, available in full at http://www.hhkfuneralhome.com.

"Nicholas reminded us that most of our problems are not really problems, and to be grateful for what we have. We must savor the sweet, beautiful moments we have every day, because ultimately life is fragile and someday all too soon, we must say goodbye," the family wrote as part of an obituary that told of Finifrock's life and gifts to those around him.

Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30 in Mahtowa Covenant Church, with a time of prayer and sharing starting at 6 p.m. Visitation resumes at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Oct. 1. Interment will immediately follow the service in Barnum Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
