Frances M. Hackensmith, 77, of Cloquet, passed away Sept. 28, 2022, at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. She was born Nov. 2, 1944, in Duluth, the daughter of Marion and Leona (Koback) Dale. Fran was a member of the Barnum United Methodist Church. Fran loved to get together with family and friends. Whether a simple dinner or holiday celebration, she was ready with a meal.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Alvin Grohek; brother Les Dale; sisters Julie Alquist, Linda Roxas and Lola Dale; and stepson Brent Hackensmith. She is survived by her husband, Fredrick; sons Russell Tow and Tim (Melissa) Tow; daughter Sue (Pat) Burggraff; stepdaughters Bonnie Widell and Belynda Kort; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: noon until the

2 p.m. memorial service Saturday, Oct. 22 at Barnum United Methodist Church. Arrangements are with Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet.
