Obituary: Robert A. Lehikoinen

Robert A. Lehikoinen, 60, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 10, 2022. He was born Nov. 26, 1961, in Cloquet to Robert and Carolyn (Huisinger) Lehikoinen. He was baptized at Big Lake Chapel as an infant and was a strong Christian man throughout his life. Robert graduated from AlBrook in Saginaw in 1980. He then attended college at Duluth Area Vocational Technical Institute, now Lake Superior College, and got an associate degree. He made his home in Cloquet and was self-employed as a logger. Robert had two daughters, Leah and Lynsy. He was a member of the Minnesota Gun Association, enjoyed going to the lake, barbequing, hunting, and trapping. He also enjoyed going to gun shows with his daughters and eating out at Chinese buffets. Robert liked to work on vehicles, building things out of wood, and watching movies. He will be remembered as a hard worker, a caring, loving father and grandfather, and someone that would always be there to help you.

Robert is survived by his daughters Leah Lehikoinen of Duluth and Lynsy Lehikoinen of Cloquet; his grandchildren Dylan, Lexis, Joshua Jr., Lillian and Anorah; his siblings Jerome (Euteva) Lehikoinen of Baxter, James Lehikoinen of Cloquet, and Sandra Lind of Duluth; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, and longtime partner of 18 years, Soja Lind.

Visitation: 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service Thursday, Oct. 20 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at http://www.nelsonfuneralcare.net.
