It's been a spectacular Halloween season in 2022, with bright fall colors and pockets of warm weather. If you haven't explored the fall and fright-themed events and places yet, this weekend will be your final chance to get out before trick-or-treating Monday night. And looming winter. The weather should cooperate, with temperatures in the mid-50s through Halloween.

Here is a list to get you going of events here and in the region:

• Haunted Hawthorne in Cloquet is a free display with donations accepted. Glenda Miller and her family at 827 Hawthorne St. will have frights through Sunday night. Details at facebook.com/hauntedhawthorne.

• It's a drive-thru affair at the County Seat Theater in Cloquet 6-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. With suggested donations of $5 per person or $20 per car, the money will go toward new stage lights at the theater. After the drive-by fun, you can get out and walk a spooky trail and get some concessions. No reservations are needed.

• Carlton's extremely popular downtown trick-or-treating event takes place 1-3 p.m. Saturday. Be prepared for a large crowd and plenty of treats from local businesses.

• The Haunted Shack and Ru-Ridge Corn Maze between Carlton and Wrenshall is open 7-10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Visit facebook.com/haunted.shack.

• Farther north, look for the Hellwig Hollow in Canyon, a scary tour through a forest open through Sunday (hellwighollow.com). There is also the Haunted Forest in Saginaw open through Sunday at 7187 Saginaw Road. Visit facebook.com/hauntedforest7187.

• Word on the street is that this year's version of the William A. Irvin Haunted Ship in Duluth is quite a scare. It will be open through Halloween night. Details and tickets are at duluthhauntedship.com.

• For a historical take on Halloween in Duluth, Cloquet's Kimberly Christine will guide you through the history and mysteries of Canal Park. Visit duluthghosttours.com for reservations.

• Combine trick-or-treating with a tour of spooky and spectacularly decorated local homes. Check out 330 Fourth St., and 109 13th St., in Cloquet and many more, including one at the corner of 10th and Carlton Avenue.
