Obituary: Mary Ellen Hebert

Mary Ellen Hebert, 96, of Cloquet passed Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, at Community Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 2, 1926, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Harold and Marlowe (Stewart) Dahl. Mary Ellen was united in marriage to Warren Hebert on Oct. 18, 1946. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, where she taught religious education, sang in the choir, and belonged to the Order of Foresters. Mary Ellen also enjoyed knitting, going to craft fairs, and once won first prize at the Carlton County fair for an afghan she entered.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren; son Stewart Hebert; brother James Dahl; and a sister, Patricia Hohensee. She is survived by her children Tim Hebert, Colleen (Mark) Vandervort, and Kathleen (Richard Seeley) Hebert; brothers John "Jack" (Marge) Dahl and Steve Dahl; sister Colleen Thorman; grandson, Jason (Tekla Stolberg) Vandervort; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. A luncheon will follow in the church social hall. Spring burial will be at New Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Nelson Funeral Care.
