Christmas Lighting winners announced

December 30, 2022

The 2022 Christmas Lighting Challenge results are in and the community has chosen their favorite homes and businesses in Duluth, Superior, Cloquet and Hermantown. Hundreds of votes are in and over 10,000 people viewed the online map leading up to the holiday.

The favorite Christmas City award went to Duluth, not surprisingly.

In Cloquet and the surrounding area, the home winner was Anthony Gist, 327 Freeman Road, for his “Christmas in the Country” display. The business winner was Lakehead Harvest Hayrides, at 70 East St. Louis River Road, in rural Esko.

Master category winners were Patrick and Katy Stojevich at 202 East McGonagle Street in Duluth, and the Hanft Fride Law Office at 1219 14th St. in Cloquet for its “Miracle on 14th” display.

Due to the winter storm, the awards ceremony at Bentleyville was canceled. The full list of lighting displays, an interactive map and more are still available at http://www.christmaslightingchallenge.com.

Winners received personalized awards and gift baskets of prizes and gift cards from local retailers.
