Russell R. “Russ” Olson, 74, of Wrenshall passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born May 25, 1948, in Cloquet. He was the son of Henry and LaVerne (Stadin) Olson of Holyoke. Russ graduated from Wrenshall High School in 1967. Following graduation, Russ served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He worked as a millwright at Conwed in Cloquet and other various locations. Russ was baptized, confirmed and a member of the Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Carlton VFW Post 2962, serving on the Honor Guard for many years.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law Ernie and Jan Zinter; sister and brother-in-law Lois and Charles Featherly; brother Glenn; sister Merlene; and brother-in-law Roger Seboe. He is survived by brother Dennis (Myrtis) Zinter of Zim; sisters Audrey (Dan) Kavanaugh of Florida and Renee (Dennis) Laubach of Burnsville, sister-in-law Laurel Olson of Wrenshall; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 3 at Holyoke Cemetery, with Military Honors presented. Arrangements entrusted to Nelson Funeral Care.
