Barnum's annual Spring Fever Days at the Carlton County Fairgrounds and around town provided plenty of riding thrills -- including a rodeo two nights -- plus plenty of hometown fun last weekend.

The three-day event kicked off Friday, June 9, with the annual steak fry 4-7 p.m. and fireworks after dusk. The rodeo at the Carlton County Fairgrounds grandstand started at 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday. Saturday highlights included a fishing contest at Hanging Horn Lake, a free 5K run/walk, a car show at the high school and the popular Spring Fever Parade. There was pie, beer, food, plus a petting zoo, corn hole competition, bingo and a pie eating contest, plus a family movie in the fairgrounds Dairy Barn that evening and music at the Rugged Spruce golf club and the fairgrounds' Hartman Pavilion. Sunday opened with a golf scramble at Rugged Spruce in the morning and auto racing at noon in the grandstand.
