Obituary: Benjamin McLain

Benjamin R. McLain, 38, of Superior, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly on May 29, 2024.

Ben was born June 19, 1985, in Cloquet to Dee (Blunt) and Brian McLain.

He was employed at various places over the years and always liked to keep busy. Ben was a jack of all trades and master of none.

He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his family and friends; ice fishing was his favorite, and he always drilled more holes than necessary. Ben loved to cut wood and would often supply family neighbors and friends with firewood - it was therapy for him, and a good workout.

His son, Skyler, was his pride and joy. Ben was a very caring man who always put other people's needs before his own. He will be remembered for his strong opinions, his caring heart, and the love he gave to others.

Ben was preceded in death by his father, Brian McLain.

Survivors include his son, Skyler McLain; Skyler's mother, Ashley LaFlamme; his mother, Dee Diler; his stepmother, Angie McLain; his siblings, Isaac (Hannah) McLain, Amanda McLain, Lyndsey (Chase) Raudebaugh and Nick McLain; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life was scheduled for June 3 at the Eagles Club in Superior.

Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th St., Superior, assisted the family with arrangements. To leave an online condolence please visit http://www.downsfh.com.
