Obituary: Brandon James Pederson

It is with heavy hearts and tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Brandon James Pederson. After many years of struggling with addictions and mental health issues, he passed away peacefully at his home in Cloquet Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the age of 50.

Brandon’s mind and soul are now at rest.

He was born on June 24, 1974, to Greg and Jeryl (Chartier) Pederson in Cloquet. After graduating from Cloquet High School he entered into the Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country. After his service, he was a self-employed floor installer and later became a journeyman ironworker.

Brandon enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family whenever possible.

Brandon is survived by his son, Kendall (Ella Walsh) Pederson; daughter of his heart, Makayla (Seth) Kitson; parents, Jeryl and Jerry Fink; grandchildren, Rayna and Lily Kitson; step children, Beau, Carissa Diver, Heather, Kelsey Soukkala; step grandchild, Tearzhae Soukkala; siblings, Robin Marine, Jenn (Joel) Soukkala, Julie (Rob) Schmidt; nieces and nephews, Kate, Jordyn, Allison, Annabelle, Lauren, Jackson, Ryan, Dominic and Alex; and beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

He’s proceeded in death by his father, Greg Pederson; paternal grandparents, Pete and Darlyne Pederson; maternal grandparents, Eleanore and Harold Ehmann and Gerald Chartier; paternal grandparents, Peter and Lydia Fink; uncles, John Chartier, Kim Pederson and Jay Pederson; aunt Donna (Fink) Rabideaux; honorary grandmother, Josie Prevost; and beloved dog of 13 years, Logan.

A visitation was held at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet on Monday, July 8 with a service the next day at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Inurnment was at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery-Duluth in Saginaw.
