Robert E. Truman, 79, of Cloquet passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born Sept. 4, 1943, to Melvin and Gladys Truman. He married Michelle Privette on Oct. 14, 2000. Bob was an iron worker by trade, took joy in being a member of the Iron Workers Local 512, and worked for Boldt Construction for over 30 years. Daniel Robert Thelen was born on July 6, 1934, to Valentine and Helen (Anderson) Thelen in Orr. He went to school in Barnum. Dan was united in marriage to Nancy Jean Leno on Nov. 26, 1955. Together, they made their home in Atkinson. They later moved to Cloquet. He worked at Conwed Corporation for a short time and then was self-employed owner at many local businesses. Elvera Marie Maki, 92, passed away peacefully at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton on Aug. 20, 2023. She was born July 22, 1931, to Charles and Alva Olson in Aitkin. Elvera was very energetic and enjoyed her daily walks. She loved conversations with friends at the senior center. She loved sharing life stories with friends and family. Alda Lorraine Twite, 98, of Cloquet died peacefully Aug. 19, 2023 in Sunnyside Health Care in Cloquet. She was born Feb. 17, 1925, in Hammer, South Dakota to Elmer and Ellen Peterson. She was raised in nearby Sisseton. Alda married Lyle Irving Twite in November 1951 in Webster, South Dakota. Together they made a wonderful home.
