Washington Elementary School was one of 67 schools and six school districts recognized by the state for its successful work using Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports for the 2019-20 school year. Last spring, students used chalk and sidewalks to express positive attitudes in school and in life. In addition to the daily work of setting expectations and rewarding positive behavior, the school's PBIS team also plans events and spirit days for students and staff, such as pancake breakfasts for staff, or a winter wonderland experience for students.
