Groundhog Day Medallion Hunt kicks off Feb. 2

The Groundhog Day Medallion Hunt sponsored by Cloquet Community Education, WKLK Radio and the city of Cloquet kicks off Saturday, Feb. 2 in the city of Cloquet.

A 6-inch circular resin medallion bearing a photo of a groundhog and a penny will be hidden somewhere on city-owned land in the Cloquet Area. No climbing, scaling or digging will be required to find the medallion. It will also not be located within 1 foot of water or a roadway.

There are two ways to get clues to the location of the medallion.

Tune into WKLK 96.5 FM or WKLK 1230 AM for daily clues between 7:25 and 7:35 a.m. starting Feb. 2.

Clues will be posted on the Community Ed website and WKLK website after noon daily until the medallion is found.

The person who finds the medallion will win the “Tree of Prizes,” which contains nearly $500 in gift certificates to Cloquet businesses, including a free Pine Knot News subscription.
