Absentee voting open for Cloquet council race

September 27, 2019

All eligible voters in Cloquet’s Ward 3, who reasonably expect to be unable to go to their polling place on primary election day Nov. 5, may vote by absentee ballot.

Candidates for the special election are Ray Schow, Chris Swanson and Uriah Wilkinson. The three are running to fill the remaining three years of former councilor Dakota Koski’s term, because Koski bought a house outside of his ward this summer and had to step down.

Ward 3 lies between Highway 33 and 14th Street, and Doddridge Avenue and the St. Louis River.

Voters may make application to vote absentee by mail by going online to mnvotes.sos.state.mn.us, or vote in person at the Carlton County auditor’s office on the second floor of the Carlton County Courthouse at 301 Walnut Avenue in Carlton. Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Additional hours for absentee voting will be on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Monday, November 4 until 5 p.m.
