The Minnesota Wilderness will now play their home opener in mid-

November, thanks to the coronavirus.

On Tuesday, the Wilderness, Austin Bruins and Aberdeen Wings announced a shuffle in the teams’ schedules spanning the upcoming two weekends due to complications caused by Covid-19.

“This action was taken in abundance of caution in an effort to operate as safely as possible for teams’ players, staff and fans,” the press release stated.

The original home opener between the Wilderness and the St. Cloud Norseman scheduled for Saturday, October 31 will now be played March 3. The Wilderness home opener is now scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14 against the Minnesota Magicians at Northwoods Credit Union Arena in Cloquet.

The Bruins home game against the Minnesota Wilderness originally scheduled for Nov. 7 will now be played on Jan. 7 at Riverside Arena in Austin.
