Obituaries: Carol A. Schlenvogt

Carol A. Schlenvogt, age 71 of Cloquet, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her home with family at her side. She was born August 6, 1949 in Jamestown, N.D., the daughter of Reinhart and Evanda (Stuckle) Lange. Carol graduated from Sykeston High School in 1967 and worked at the North Dakota State University Bookstore where she met William Schlenvogt. They were united in marriage on March 2, 1973 in Fargo, N.D. and later moved to Cloquet in 1976. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she served as a Deacon, was a member of the Quilting Club and WELCA.

Carol was a member of Blue Star Mothers, Women’s AGLOW where she served as president, Curves and Anytime Fitness. She loved quilting, gardening, especially with flowers, doing puzzles, reading murder mysteries. Carol especially loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending all their events and school functions and socializing with her many friends through visits and phone calls.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, William “Bill”; four sons, Jamie (Kim), Mike, Tim (Jeannette) and Stephen (Charlene) Schlenvogt; nine grandchildren, Madison, James, Thomas, Ella, Myla, Viola, Grayson, Chase, and Nicholas; one great-granddaughter, Sunni; one brother, Allan Lange; two sisters, Kaye Cossette and Sandy (Mike) Donahue; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evening visitation will be Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. The visitation will continue Friday, January 22, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service also at Nelson Funeral Care. Interment service will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required at all times. The funeral will be broadcasted on radio station 91.1 FM from the funeral home parking lot. The funeral service will also be on Zoom.
