Obituaries: Michael John Hagen

Michael John Hagen, 69, of Roseville passed away Feb. 12, 2021, at United Hospital in St. Paul. He was born Dec. 18, 1951, in Cloquet to Maurice and Virginia Hagen.

Michael worked for LCS Coaches, Greyhound bus lines and managed multiple apartment complexes in the Twin Cities. He enjoyed visiting state parks, especially Jay Cooke State Park in Carlton. He loved kayaking at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park in Two Harbors. His favorite part was kayaking to a spot to enjoy some cheese, crackers and a little wine, and take in the beautiful Minnesota summer day.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Lorrie Hagen, of Cloquet; and brother John Herron of Sydney, Australia.

He is survived by brothers Jack (Vicki) and Ernie of Cloquet; nieces, Amy Kolodge (Steve) of Cloquet and Abby Willie (Dan) of Austin, Texas; nephew, Joshua Hagen (Dawn) of Cloquet; and special friend Phyllis Block of Mellen, Wisconsin.

Due to Covid restrictions, the family will hold a family gathering at a future time.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Jay Cooke State Park or another state park of your choice. Arrangements are by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service.
