Cloquet author wins Christian book award

"Arya The Protector," a children's picture book by Cloquet author Burton Laine, won a first-place children's book award in the 2020 Christian Author Awards. In the book, the sheep on a farm have no reason for fear, because Arya, a shepherd dog, is a protector that is always there to watch over them and protect them, a reminder that God keeps us safe.

The book is illustrated with 24 photographs from the farm, of the shepherd dog interacting with the farm family and the sheep. The photography is by Burton and Debra Laine and the book is designed by Zachary Hitchcock of Esko.

The book also was recommended by the Englewood Book Review in Indiana as one of the top three children's books of 2020 to help start spiritual conversations.

"Arya The Protector" is available the Bookstore at Fitgers in Duluth. It is also available in ebook and print versions from online booksellers at amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com.
