Obituary: Kyle Burggraff

May 28, 2021

On Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, Kyle lost his battle with the struggles of this life and passed away at his home. Kyle was born on June 5, 1991 in Duluth, the son of Kelly Burggraff and Craig Hopp.

From the day of his birth, Kyle brought great joy and love to the lives of all who loved him. Kyle had a genuine kindness, a loving heart, a sense of humor that had everyone around him smiling, and he touched the lives of many.

We are left with many special memories of time spent with Kyle. Growing up, much of his time was spent outdoors camping, fishing, hunting at the shack with his Grandpa Tom, and going to Big Sandy Lake with family. He was involved in the Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle badge in 2009. Kyle graduated from Cloquet High School in 2010. He enjoyed playing football and participated in the shot put and discus throw events in track and field. He also had the honor of being crowned homecoming king.

After high school, Kyle got very involved in weightlifting and competed in several sanctioned powerlifting competitions throughout the state. His passion for weightlifting continued to this day.

Kyle believed and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

He was employed at Cloquet Sanitary, USG Corporation, and was most recently employed at Sappi. He purchased a home in 2016 and took great pride in the many projects he completed there. He enjoyed woodworking, cooking, fishing, spending time at the hunting shack and being in the company of his family and friends.
